I'm trying to put PS on my 200. Is it possible too run it off of just the crank pulley or does it have to go to the water pump as well? If so, does anyone have a dual groove water pump pulley fo sale?

On my 200, the PS runs only off the crank. The alternator has a dual groove that runs with the waterpump and crank. Sorry, dont have any for sale. You try checking ebay or junkyards? Also, try posting in the 'wanted' section and see if you can find anyone there that may want to sell ya one. Hope that helps!

Bigjhoov,

Just checking on your status because I'm trying to do same thing--put PS on my 67 200. I haven't had any luck finding all the brackets for the PS pump nor a 2 groove water pump pulley. If I can't find one, then either I go with a V8 engine and accessories or I buy a 1981 200 that I found with all the brackets and pulleys.

Would appreciate if you might respond with year of your engine and whether you had any luck running the power steering right off the crank. I guess you have a 2 groove pulley on the crank (true?).

Thanks.

I found a bracket off of an early mustang and am running the pump off of the crank only. There have been a few of the brackets on ebay.

Jerry,

I thought you were macho enough to handle the bronco without PS? I'll get you a wheel spinner if you need one.ha-ha.

Yes sir, my runs off the crank and over the water pump pulley to the PS pump. I found a 2-groove harmonic balancer at the junkyard and got the PS bracket from a guy here on the forum.
Right now I am ordering on of those Cardone pumps especially made for the whining Ford pumps. I can not even hear the engine over that stock Ford pump. Total cost is about $150 and there are three in Dallas to speak of. Napa part # 20-6244.

Jerry, I don't know if I can say this on the forum and keep it family oriented, but "I Love You Man!", really.

You just saved me a few bucks, enough for a couple of six-packs of cold LoneStar beer. I don't care what they say about you, you are all right in my book.

Thanks,

Kirk

No problemo. Just glad I was actually able to help you for a change. How many of the herd are you bringing to Roundup this year?

I'm installing PS this weekend and my plan is to run only off the crank. Not that that helps you since I have no experience to back it up, but just sos you know you are not alone, if you decide to go that way.

I believe it will just be me and my cousin this year. Monica will only have to babysit us two. ha-ha.
