Use the bellhousing from an early six, XR on with hydraulic clutch, the t5 should be able to be adapted to that, the 3 speed housing should work with the spigot hole enlarged.
the XP will have a hole in the firewall where a clutch master cylinder will bolt up. Make up a pedal pushrod etc from xr on , use the standard slave cylinder.
221s have same flywheel as xr on sixes up to xy then cr4ank flange changed to V8, the clutch on xt xw six was 9.5inch which is OK for 221 with 2v head (ive done this years ago) a 350 holley works Ok although a 500 will give more power, at a cost of course. But dont dont try to run too much cam with single large carby like the 500 holley, no more than say a EFI type of grind.
Dont try and use the stock diff youll break the pinions a BW is good. Dont be talked into a 9 inch there too heavy.
The 221-2v should shift the p allong quite nicely and keeps the car pretty stock.
