226 H wont start

1951 f1 226 H won't start. Starter motor turns slow. New battery. 6 volt. Cleaned all contacts. Timed correctly. Gapped points. Checked condenser. Good spark. Carburetor spraying fuel. I get sputter but no start. Looked and check everything many times. Have not tried starter fluid. Many be next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I am understanding correctly, it is good or close. That’s assuming you set the engine up for #1 cylinder TDC compression stroke. Have you done a compression test?

Rereading your original post regarding the sputtering, sounds like late timing. I’d advance it a bit and try it again.
