DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW IF THE CAM IN THE 1964 VERSION
262 FORD ENGINE, IS THE SAME AS THE 1961-1963 MOTORS, I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE WAS A CHANGE IN THE 64 ENGINE, I BELIEVE
IT WAS THE LOCATION OF THE FUEL PUMP, BUT NOT SURE. ANY HELP ON THIS WOULD BE APPREAICATED. I HAVE THE 64 VERSION ENGINE, AND I CAN GET A NOS CAM FOR THE 1961-1963 ENGINE.

Well I see know one has a clue about my posting, However, I got the answer myself, I bought the cam I mentioned in my posting, the cam in question was alittle different than my 1964 version, but it will work in the 64 motor, with some minor modifcations. On the 1961-1963 cam, the fuel pump was mounted near the timing gear, so the lobe that works the fuel pump on the 64 motor is missing, quick fix, you will have to use a electric fuel pump with this cam in the 64 engine. Next, the 64 cam has a cross drilled intermetiate journal, third journal from the front, so if you have access to a machine shop, using your 64 cam as a guide, you can drill the cam, as I did. Anyone who wants a brand new drop in Cam for the 1961-1963 (262 ford motor), or can modify it for the 64 motor, I can give you the setup details on how I drilled my cam. Well, believe it or not, I read this old post, contacted michelle Rutter, they still had a cam, and I bought it. Sorry, don't bother cause they don't have any more.Thought I should update this post, save ya some time. I have a 64, so when I get ready to re-build, I'll take the old and new to the machine shop, and have them drill the journal.Jim
