Hi
I'm about to upgrade to the Holley 2300, and the only parts (I think) I need now are parts for the accelerator pedal. I am planning on doing the cable deal.
How long an accelerator cable do I need to buy? Do I need to buy a new cable style pedal? Or does the original pedal suffice?

Thanks again guys!

Swap the whole pedal and cable from a later car. Doesn't have to be a mustang. Wrecking yard will be about $5-$10, I sincerely doubt the pedal assembly is available new (and probably the cable, either)

For a more stock look, you can but a V-8 mustang accelerator pedal and work it with a cable like I did:

I know it's set up for an aussie 4V set up, but the cable can be routed however you want. I didn't want a late model floor pedal and wanted the car to look stock from the outside.

AZStang66,
If you don't want to do any of the above solutions, then get a cable and pedal from Lokar. The cable needs to be 36" long. It'll work for either the log or Oz 250 style head.

I used a cable off a 82 Ford F-150 w/ 300 6.

plenty long enough and cost $28.00 IIRC.

I went off of Slade's design. I used a V8 accelerator linkage and a Lokar cable throttle from Summit.
