2V Carb info needed.... Any carb experts out there

I got this carb off ebay Its a reman ford and I think its off a 73 because the PN on the base gasket is D32E-9947-AA, no part number on the carb itself.

It looks like it is missing the choke. Does it look like a auto or man choke? Where could I pick one up. Any other thoughts on this carb?

I will try to post pics. It is my first time doing this so I hope it works...

That is a Weber DFV or Holley 5200 series carb. That choke sure looks like the electric type but I’m sure you could adapt it to the manual if you wanted. Your only missing the coil, gasket and cap that will bring it back to life. This is my choice for a progressive carb for the six. The primary circuit is the near side or the left bore as you are looking at the carb. Its real easy to adapt to the early rod type throttle.

Which head are you going to install it on?

Thanks man, so where would I get a new cap, coil etc? Also, I don't see any place on that carb to connect that tube that comes out of the exhaust manifold or will I not need one with this type electric choke?

Its going on a 78 granada head. The plan is to make my own adaptor and open up the hole on the log as much as I can to boost air flow. You are right, the linkage and everything should hook right up. It also opens up the options for air cleaners because this thing is alot shorter then the Carter YF that I have now.

That tube on the exhaust manifold is for the heat riser type choke. The stock carb has a small hole in the body that is routed to the choke spring housing (look at your oem carb) and draws air from the exhaust manifold through the choke housing to heat the spring. The one you have pictured doesn’t look like it is setup for that type. If you go electric you won’t need the tube from the manifold to heat the choke, the spring will be heated through electrical resistance.

You will have to check with our local parts house for the cap, gasket and spring.
