300 EFI into a vintage car

Hi All

I just picked up a wrecked(passenger side front corner, hard) 92 F150 2wd with a freshly rebuilt 300 six bolted to an automatic overdrive trans. I needed the drivers side door and a couple of other parts for a daily driver and it was cheaper to buy the whole truck, than just the handful of parts that I needed.

My question is this, is there an after market controller box that I can buy to use in place of the factory wiring in the event that I want to install the engine and trans into a late 50's model ford car? I am talking one that would control the ignition, fuel injection, transmission, and everything else needed to make the engine run. If there is, then this engine may have a new home. I really do not want to try and transplant the entire wiring harness from the truck into the car.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The newest Megasquirt board I believe will now control an automatic transmission. However, with the amount of time needed to program the Megasquirt to control everything you want, you may want to bite the bullet and transfer the wiring/ECU over from your wreck. Purchase a repair manual for the vehicle you have, it should have a wiring diagram to follow.

You would need to make a wiring harness anyway for what you want to do, why not use the harness you already have.

Just my $0.02.

X2 the stock wire harness would not be that hard to remove intact and use.
