Can of a dumb question. just wondering if its easy or if you have to cut up some other manifold or something...

A 4-bbl carb is simply too wide to fit on the log manifold. At all. Either an Aussie 2V with its removable manifold, one of Classic Inlines aluminum jobs or this

must be done.

well, a holley 390 4bbl would do quite nicely on a 200 or 250, better than a 350 2bbl cause it's only about 250 cfm under normal conditions with secondary's closed. you CAN mount a 4bbl to a log manifold, but you have to buy an adaptor or direct mount for a holley 2300 2bbl first, then you need to buy a holley 2300 to 4bbl adaptor, $16.99 available from advance auto, Autozone ect... Summit racing has them too.

haha wow, it would work but i dont think you would gain any power out of something like that. stock intake and exhaust is just way too small to take advantage of a 4bbl. espically when it all has to flow through that 1bbl hole in the head

In 66 & 67 Pontiac had a 230 cuin OHC I6 that came with a Quadrajet that was rated at 207 HP. But like others have said 'the log' just was not designed to flow much more than the stock 1bbls, you can see in the picture that the pontiac has slightly larger runners than our fords.

so it'd pretty much pointless then? would it be more beneficial to run 3 2bbl?

Anything other than 1 1 bbl or maybe 1 2bbl is going to have limited benifits without mods to the log. If you are going to do enough mods to fit 3 of anything on a stock head you might as well go crazy and build something to take a 4bbl if thats what you think would be cool. I just saw some pictures a MPFI system a guy built himself for a 62 cadillac. He built the intake out of exhaust tubes and welded the whole thing up himself with a couple of throttle bodies from a junkyard. I guess it works well. A little paint it would look pretty cool also. You could cut the log off and get 6 throttle bodies with injectors or carbs off of things like snowmobiles and jet skis?
