All Small Six 6 exhaust sound

I just accidentally cured the drone from my new 2-1/2" turbo muffler.
I extended the tailpipe about 7" which is a few inches past my new chrome rear bumper so that the exhaust would not discolor it.
My car is now quieter and I don't hear any drone from inside the vehicle.
Maybe the body was amplifying the drone and the loudness that I heard inside the vehicle.

from my experience, if you 'tuck' the exhaust pipe, and aim the 'under the bumper' pipe down for the last 6 inches, so that the exhaust is angled toward the road, the air coming under the car clears out the exhaust so that the 'trunk drag' you are talking about doesn't keep the exhaust against the car, most car manufacturers do this from the factory, but most custom exhaust makers won't, unless you specifically ask them to as its two extra bends in the pipe and takes time away from other money making jobs.

ppl R telling me the look, less expense, avoidance of off rd hazards might put the yuck in the cab of the bronk when I finish the 'thru rocker/frnt of rear tire' exhaust job I'm planning...
