If this should be in a different location please feel free to move it. I am trying to ascertain the difference between a 67 block and a 78 block namely can I use the same oli pump, oil pan, bellhousing ect. on each. Thanks Denny

the blocks are basically the same. the 78 block might have a couple extra bolt holes for accessories that were not available in 67, or were moved around for the later engine.

My 1978 Fairmont engine block had multiple locations for oil dipstick. I had to relocate the dipstick tube to different location for the oil pan that fit my 1962 Falcon

I believe the 78 block and bellhousing uses the low-mount starter, if the 67 isn't already a low-mount...

nope, the low mount starter 3.3l started in late 79, and even then some were high mount, some were low mount.

If there are multiple locations for the dipstick how do you plug the hole you don't use?

The hole for the move dip stick is plugged with a soft plug similar to the soft plugs used on the side of the block.
