I have a 69 falcon with a 170 and a 3.03 tans, will a 1969-1974 250 swap right into place? I hope someone can help? THANKS

Nope. The transmission bolt pattern on the E0BB engines is bigger, 2/3 of a V8 pattern. Good news is, a T5 or V8 C4/AOD is much easier with this engine.

Actually, now that I think about it, a 3.03 bellhousing for a 289/302 should fit and allow you to use your old tranny.

Oh yeah, it'll fit in the bay just fine. The motor mounts will line up, and all of the accessories will bolt on. The problem is in the transmission.

Oh, and the oilpan and oil pickup from the 170 will have to be swapped over. It'll fit.

Aren't the brackets, mounts and pan different for a 250 ?

He edited his post. It used to say "would a 80-83 BB 200 fit".

As to your revised original question, I've been looking at the 250 swap into my '69 Falcon as well. Since the 250 was offered on the '69 Fairlane, and the '69 Falcon is based on a shortened Fairlane platform, I was wondering if you could use the '69 Fairlane frame bracket and motor mounts to get it to drop right in. I have a pair of the frame brackets, but haven't found the motor mounts yet. (Can't find them in the aftermarket.)The frame brackets appears to use the same bolt holes, and it drops the mounting point a little lower and back towards the firewall. I'm going to look into an interchange manual that covers the mounts, and see if my theory is correct. One way to test it would be to find out if the 200 I6 mounts are the same in both cars or if the 302 V8 mounts are the same. Beyond that, I don't know if the oil pans would be different.

I stuffed a 250 into my '66, which if I'm not mistaken is nearly identical to '69 as far as the engine compartment goes. From core support to cowl, my '66 Comet and '69 Ranchero were the same. I no longer have the '69 so i can't be 100% positive.
Now that I have the '66 Ranchero, it's exact match to my '66 Comets. I've been using the Fairlane for aftermarket parts for my Comet, so I see no reason why '69 frame brackets wouldn't work. The cool thing is that the T-5 was a near bolt-in using the original speedometer cable, z-bar, trans mount isolator and crossmember from C6 big block. Since you have a 3.03, you can use your throwout bearing and clutch fork. The clutch fork needs an adaptor. You'll need a zero balance flywheel for the 250. I had to modify the 200 motormounts to accommodate the 250, so I'm still in the market for framebrackets; however, it fits perfectly in the engine bay. And for some reason the 250 motormount isolators are hard to come by. I have an old set and they donot match the 200.

Good luck,
