a couple of questions:

Did the 69 mustang inline 6 have a cable throttle?

Was the pedal mounted on the inside of the car or the engine bay side?

The 69 mustang inline six used a combination short cable/rod setup that was used for one year only. It centered around a bracket that bolted to the to the underside of the rear of the intake log using two threaded holes that were added to the head casting in 69. Unlike the 70+ cable linkage that "pulled" across the top of the valve cover, the 69 linkage pulled from the back of the head and a pivot on the bracket converted the motion to an upward "push" rod to the carburetor (similar to the 65-68 rod motion, but without having a pivot on the carb spacer). I will post a picture and add to this post later tonight.

Mustang 6,
This is what I am trying to accomplish. I have a 65 mustang and converted to a 2 bb holly. I tried the linkage route but I didn't like it and I want to convert to a cable system. I bought a 69 pedal and from what I can see all I need to do is mount the pedal INSIDE the car. Drill a hole about a couple of inches above the old one ... but this is where I need help. I am hoping I can just get a 69 cable.

The question is the length...will it work and has anyone done this type of cable setup. If it works then to me this would be the simplest solution to adding a cable throttle. Most of the early mustang folk convert to a 2/4 BB carb.

Any thought out there?????

Steve
