I got a DS2 dizzy to put in a friends '72 Mav with a 250 (to replace the stock points dizzy), I haven't seen the motor yet... but I believe it's stone stock.. according to the specs it has a 8:1 compression ratio. The car has a 8 inch, so I believe it has 3:1 gears in it, and it has a C4.. pretty sure it has a YF on it
Any suggestions for an advance curve? The dizzy I have has 10 and 15 degree slots, it was on the 15 when I got it... with a plastic clip to limit the advance (it came out of a Fairmont in the yard). I was almost thinking it may be okay where it's at (on the 15 with the clip), and maybe just try to make it come in a little bit quicker.. with 8:1 I don't think it's going to mind a little extra advance.
I know the stock initial is supposed to be 6 BTDC, so is 10-12 a good starting point?
Thanks guys!
