A/C compressor???????

is it possible to take out the A/C compressor completely and just buy belts for a non A/C car, and reroute the belts? it mounts over my alternator, and its giving me some nasty grinding noises when i accelerate. its actually quite embarassing when i';m trying to impress the ladies and this nasty noise comes from inside my car... any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks

8) yes you can remove the compressor, and change the drive belt setup, but why not fix the problem?

someone actually stole a bunch of other pieces out of the car before i bought it that were part of the A/C... not really sure which ones, but i do know that it doesnt work at all. and the compressor is more problems thatn its worth... eventually i'll buy all new components, but i'm a broke student, and getting to school without the cxar squealing is more important to me right now than A/C know what i mean ?
