A/C Hose Routing

I bought a Classic Air Sanden conversion kit and the instructions are lacking. Mostly they are written for the V8. Has anyone used this kit and would you tell me how the heck you ran the hoses? TIA

I hear you, their instructions are #$%&.

I put one in my Ranchero awhile back and posted info and pics over at tffn, here's the link. http://www.tffn.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=6245

I ran the compressor outlet hose forward to the condenser, then the condenser outlet across the top of the radiator and back along the driver's side, then through the firewall to the inboard of the steering column, then to the evap, then from the evap back through the firewall, up and behind the engine to over by the heater blower, then forward to the compressor.

On the Falcons and early Mustangs, there are knockouts in the firewall to route the hoses. Also, on the driver's side of the radiator is where the hoses are generally routed to the condensor.

jamyers: Pretty much the same observations I have. Our kits are different so there are some other issues with mine and some of yours don't apply. The hoses for my condensor are on the drivers side so somehow I need to get them over the engine, under the alternator, and to grandmother's house we go!! :)

LaGrasta: Thanks for the link. Their universal instructions fill most of the gaps!

kukm66: Thanks, this car is an AC original so all the knockouts are...well....knocked out! It'll be pretty easy (so I think!) once I get the hose routing figured out.

I am eternally screwed on this A/C...

I got the same kit as you, but I never got the alternator bracket (the long skinny piece that makes a slight curve), and I called them about it and they said they couldn't send me one.

However, I bought mine from someone, so who knows what I"m supposed to do.

But thanks for that link over to tffn, those are some good pics.

If its the piece I'm thinking of, they have them at Auto Zone. Its the adjustment arm for the alternator.

I have a complete AC system I pulled out of my 66 Mustang. I just listed it in the "Buy, Sell, Trade" usergroup if anyone's interested.
