Wondering if anyone knew where I can buy the small air fliters to fit atop my single barrel carb. I also put this post under wanted topic, cause I wasnt sure where it shound go. Thanks to all, Jake

Don't get the little 3" diamter ones, you'll need more airflow than they can give.

Well I thought that the snorkle type I have would have less air flow, than a smaller one. Than what would be ok then, for that?

I ordered one from trophy mustang for like $40 and it's great.

Here's the link: http://www.trophymustang.com/product_in ... cf44b2ff2d

Part number: C4DZ-9600-W

I immediately noticed an improvement with better airflow...one thing i've learned on these boards is that the six has one downfall, poor breathing abilities...so by going to this open element assembly, you open up it's ability to breathe...I recommend this upgrade!

I have usually just added some holes around the back (out of sight) for more flow to stock air cleaner

Almost any parts store should have the 4" x 2" round air cleaners in stock. I picked up one for my '83 LTD and it fits like a glove, looks cool too.

Wow, that's nice Linc.

The added holes idea?
It works - more air flow and still looks stock!
You can drill holes in any part outside the perimeter of the filter element. A "unibit" makes the job super EASY!

Haven't had any problems with them for my Sunday Cruiser...see avatar.

Maybe for a cruiser,
I'll bet you pick up at least 5 HP or more on a dyno just by taking it off.
How often do you go to full throttle?

hey steve o yours looks great is that an K&N one and where did u get it from? thanks to all that have written in but its crazy cause its like everything else it what i feel works best for my engine. so i guess i may buy it and then check it out against mine and then try the holes in the back of my snorkel type.

That air cleaner from Trophy Mustang looks pretty nice. I've never seen it before. I can't use it with my Weber, but if I had an Autolite, I'd pick one up.
