64fordf100223 asked me where I got my alternator bracket- Home Depot.
1 pc. 1/4" X 1" flat bar X 6 5/8" w/2 holes drilled in it.
2 pcs. 1/4" X 1" fb X 4 1/2" 45 degree cut one end, 1 hole other end
1 ea. 3/8 pipe close nipple (spacer)
now this is obviously home-made with the crudest of tools- hacksaw, hand drill, hand grinder, and a borrowed welder.
the hardest part was putting it together- tackind and checking, tearing it apart tacking and re-checking, final fit then welding it.
the reason for the re-fits was the block holes aren't on a plane withe the fan belt- I built it assuming that by building it square and true, everything would line up. hahahahahaha
When I have access to the proper tools, I'll build one that I can have chrome plated. Til then, I'm on the road. :D :D :D

Yeah, I know the engine needs a powerwash, but I did fix the oil leak.

You can see the misalignment of those holes in the block, when it's photographed clearly like that. Nice use of an NPT male-male as alternator spacer, too!

Two questions:

Why did you not bend the flat bar at the front - lack of facilities?
Are you going to gusset that corner?

Just curious.

The front bar wasn't bent because I didn't think that I'd be able to get the correct angle up in a vise with a hammer, so I cut them both at 45 degrees and tacked them on.
Not planning on gussetting them as they are plenty stout with the fillet welds on each side of the bars.
The next one will have a much more finished look, withe bends and gussets, or I may fill the open spaces entirely.
