Aluminum Radiator Quality

Curious if there are any comments on the ones from e-bay? The welds in the pictures look pretty shabby. I was looking for some actual eyes on comments before I go any further with buying one.

I'm pretty darn happy with mine. It's from an ebay seller, made in china by Silla and the welds aren't pretty...but no signs of leaks yet. The car has never run this cool in the 20+ years I've owned it (radiator is a couple years old). I had to put a 195 stat in it to get it to run in the normal range when the ambient temperature is 75-80f and below. Even the old copper one never ran this cool after the last time I had it vatted and rodded.

I bought mine on ebay for $190 shipped. It's Northernâ„¢ brand and is top quality. In fact, the welds are like artwork, no lie.

Awesome! I'm actually looking for asthetics so LaGrastas is probably the better of the two.

Frankenstang: Yours isn't looking too bad either. Those welds are what is scaring me off though. Think you could grind them a bit too make them pretty??

Hmm, I hadn't thought of that...personally I'd be concerned about grinding much on/around the aluminum, but that's mainly because I'm a greenhorn when it comes to metal work...you should see what passes for 'okay by me' on my floor pan work

There are definitely more options out there than there were a couple years ago...some with pressed tanks (fewer welds) and even some kits that include an electric fan in the deal. I'll be interested to see what you go with Ronbo.
