Thanks for the kind words about the Handbook Franken.
Helmut-Check the linkage by having someone depress the throttle pedal inside the car, while you peer down the top into the carb, with the choke open, to verify that the butterfly valve is completely vertical. If you can manually move the linkage on the carb to open it farther, you will need to adjust the linkage to be able to gain full throttle and regain top end performance. You may also want to try a few more degrees of initial advance.
Also you will need to retune the low speed air screw for highest vacuum.
Glad to hear it is an improvement over the 1940.
