I decided to replace T-10 with T-5 and started the conversion yesterday after getting all the parts. My car was already converted for T-10 and therefore it already had '67-bell and 28-spline yoke. Some modification has been required so far:
- Drilling the holes to bell to adapt V8 adapter plate
- Grinding 1/2" from the fron and right side of the shifter hole
- Shaping the crossmember bolt holes to get it placed
As seen in the picture the yoke free movement is a bit less than 1". I hope its enough. I measured the T-5 length with the adapter and it seemed to be even shorter than T-10.
