How much would i be looking at if i wanted to install AOD transmission?

and also what parts would i need to buy to convert?

what size tourque converter?

what do i need to do a swap for a 69 250 mustang?

so what i am basically asking is what everything i need and how much, for a complete swap?

The cost of a used AOD trans, 250 bucks, with starter, separator plate, 164 teeth 14.375" flexplate, perhaps a Mustang T-bar and AOD kickdown cable

Every AOD into a carb car needs a Transgo shift kit, Haynes rebuild manual and a 1985 4.9 or early 1979 to 1985 Carb 5.0 AOD kickdown cable

what size tourque converter?

95% of Aod's run a stock is 1650 rpm stall, but the HO Mustangs and 3.8 SC's had 2350 stall. New, they are cheap at about 250 bucks

Nothing. Oh wait, a big oil cooler with the big diameter lines, a custom made cross member (ex Fox Mustang). Perhaps a B and M shifter with 4 speed coversion kit, or perhaps you could covert a stock one to 4 stage. Then just follow Jack Collins details in the tech section.

A grand out to do it, easy.

The stock shifter works fine if you make up a new rod. The AOD only has three drive positions so a regular shifter works pretty well for normal driving.

The only tricky bit is hooking up the Throttle Valve. You MUST get this working properly to get a good shift. If you leave it disconnected, the tranny will die within miles from lack of internal pressure.
