the general concencus that the aussie heads are awsome, i would not be one to detract from that. however i hear almost nothing (good or bad) about the argie head. i have not actually seen them side by side but from the photos online they seem remarkably similar. can any one tell me the differences in potential (performance) and reliability as well as physical differences (i.e. mounting to the american block)?
also every engine has better and worse heads according to the year of manufacture--what would be the best year of oz head for the 79 american block?
and finally i was wondering if anyone had tried anything REALLY wild with the log head such as sidedraft SU carbs, dual or trip webers, or my personal fave---a bank of side draft constant velocity motorcycle carbs. if you have tried it how well did it work?
im not building a funny car, i just want some hard 0-60 times and good dose of bling-bling plans for the future include a 5speed and 8.8 fox stang rear current curb weight is 2800 pounds (give or take a bit)

the biggest reason the argie head isnt talked about alot here is cause nobody has one they arent very common here in america but neither is the aussie headbut there are still a good amount of them and there are alot of aussies here on the board

the biggest physical difference i remember is there exhaust ports on an argie are totally redesigned to the point where you cant use the the headers we currently have like FSPP's and the Pacemakers they require a different header

well are there headers available anywhere at all or would i have to make my own? do you think theres a difference in output?

yes the headers are out there but im not sure where to get them you would probably have to get them from argentina

Well I have an argie head on my Ranchero, 170 cu. in six. It's been on
the engine for over 3 yrs, has over 20,000 miles on it. I land speed
race it, and at the end of the day has a 'ton' more horsepower over
the log head. Thats my 2 cents worth, Paul.

For anybody who may be curious, a translation of the text at the top of that web page is this:

In this gallery are the different motors that they equipped to the Ford Falcon, are so much the original motors as also those that they were customized by the owners, the changes who can have are as much of colors as of carburetors, distributors, air cleaners, etc.

For anybody who would like a link to the Altavista BabelFish web page, HERE YA GO.

Very useful. Check it out. (No, it can't translate Aussie into American. You'll have to learn to cope with that yourself.)

:)

I have an Argie ME head on a 200 and really like it- There's no need for tube headers because it comes with cast iron headers from the factory. Think jag 6 cylinder exhaust manifolds but even more header-like. I think the ME intake manifold might flow a little bit better than the aussie intake plus the carb mounts perpeducilar to the head rather than paralle. The Argie head should be far more plentiful because they were produced for a longer time. The problem with the Argie head is getting them to the US in any kind of reliable manner. It has been tried before but with little sucess. I have pictures of my set up but I may need help posting. John

that would be awsome. like i said in another thread though im computer illiterate lmao wish i could help more. i scoped out the vids of the argie falcons etc---man those lil mofos were gettin it! they got gone quicker than my ex did on payday lmao. i may yet delve into the argies a little bit more---what are the prices like compared to the ausssie and what (american) carbs bolt up with relative ease? im a big fan of the K.I.S.S.(keep it simple stupid) lmao

ranchero i notice you have one type of intake and a different exhaust--what are the differences for the uninitiated?

I have a 'sp' intake. It is supposed to be a 'high performance' factory manifold. (if I'm incorrect, please correct me) The carb bolt pattern is
that of a holley two barrel/ford/autolite 2100 two barrel. There is a picture of the engine in the Sept. 05 Hot Rod mag. Page 88. Thats all for now, Paul.

Good day, my name is Gaston and alive in Argentina, the cover of cylinders to which they do mention corresponds to the Falcon Sprint insigna "SP" corresponds to "Special Performance" and is a cover that granted 166HP in vehiculo standard. Aca in Argentina is estan making in aluminum and in cars of competicion they are obtained something but of 400hp. If they want but information I recommend to them to enter to www.fanafalcon.com.ar/foro you would are welcome.
