Assembly lube recommendations

In preparation for my build (should be picking up the block this afternoon!), I'm wondering what folks are recommending for assembly lube. I've used the white grease in the blue cap for engines I put together 15 years ago and never had any problem. Is that still standard?
What about the cam? I guess there are special cam break-in lubes. Are they worth it?
Finally, what oil should I start with in the pan? I ultimately want to run synthetic, but don't plan on starting with that. I guess I'm most concerned at this stage for my cam and the zinc content of most modern oils.
Thanks.

Federal Mogul Sealed Power Assembly Lubricant and Melling Mell-Lube are what I've used.
Sticky stuff.
I would start with the cheapest dino oil I could find because you're just going to dump it out after 30 minutes.

royal purple also makes a great assembly lube. white grease is way old school. i think these days i would use STP before i use white grease again.

true, there is nothing wrong with old school. however, why not take advantage of the new school as well?
