so if i were to purchase one of these, would it bolt directly onto my 250-1v inline 6. or would i need some sort of adapter. also, would i need to buy a new carb and intake manifold or could i use the stock one for a while till i buy a new one?

Thanks a bunch,

~Dave

It should come with the manifold. Yes, it will bolt right up to your block, but you DO need to acquire headers. A standard cast iron exhaust manifold will not seal to the head.

As to carbs - the factory unit is an Aussie-made "Stromberg WW". This carb is OK, but not optimum. Use of generic adaptors will allow two-barrel Webers like the 36/36 synchronous or 32/36 progressive, a Holley, a Carter two-barrel, or even a VaraJet or DualJet.

Hope this helps!

Regards, Adam.

What's the procedure for getting a head like that on a 200? I want to manufacture a set of headers and such, and use a 2bbl carb on my 200. Probably use the holley progressive, since I like holleys. Does the aussie head just bolt on to 200s as well? Just starting to get info on high performance 6ers, so I'm basically just learning a new set of info all over again. =) Thanks for the info.

It will drop a lot of your compression on a 200, unless you get a head that has been milled on the gasket face.

From the factory, the Aussie 2V head has about 58cc per combustion chamber. Your 200 is between 48 and 52... That's why it's necessary to compensate - otherwise it's a big waste of fuel.

Cheers, Adam.
