The cast iron head is like this one below. It has:-
no unleaded valve inserts.
The compression ratio varies between the taxi versions regular gas 8.2:1, and the premium fuel 9.2:1 of the high compression version.
Power is about 112 to 114 hp, depending on the year.
It complys with US 1973 emission regulations, as long as it comes with the air cleaner, header and PCV valve.
I've found them to be very, very smooth and can rev well despite the Bendix Stromberg 1-bbl they all came with. An American Carter or, Holley
1-bbl should bolt on with a few modifications.
Net Power is 25 to 30% up on the best American 200 log engines, with much better fuel figures. 30 US miles per gallon at 55 mph was common on the last 3000 pound Falcons that ran this engine.
Engine is about 40 kilos heavier, and comes with a specific to Australia bellhousing bolt pattern. Order the C4 or Top Loader 4-speed bell housing, and it will fit up to most stock Mustangs.
