I was just wondering how much it would cost to get a whole motor and get it shipped from austraila, more specifically one of the later model fuel injected motors? just curious

8) as i recall, addo and i discussed this about a year ago, an di think we came up with a number like $1200 usd including shipping. addo correct me if i am wrong.

hmm thats not bad considering... I'll keep that in mind in the future

It depends a lot on where you are (east or west coast etc) and what you want. Buddying up with someone to split shipping is always a good move.

AzCoupe has a good reliable contact in Melbourne, Australia. He is well-connected to the Ford wreckers in that state, and can get most things pretty consistently, and of good quality. There are also the part-time exporters such as aussiexports and Ausford.

With any purchase, there should be a stipulated timeframe for delivery. Remember too, that installing and finessing the motor transplant consumes good amounts of money. Purchase and freight are only two elements of total cost in a swap.

I understand its quite the undertaking, and I'm still working on another project, but I was thinking about it as an alternative to fabricating a EFI intake for any other head, which would be quite the challenge also. But, I'm not really serious about it right now.. I just wanted to get an idea on the price to see if would be more cost effective than to try to piece together an EFI on a motor not designed for it, and even at $1500 or $2000, for a motor with all the injectors, throttle body and sensors, seems like a much better idea than trying to do it yourself, not to mention the crossflow head design :D but... thats for the future, hopefully
