What would a rebuildable head and 2v manifold cost including shipping? I'm interested in the option, but always considered it out of my reach financially.

Thanks,

Ed
hi, it depends on what type of head you have in mind. a good second hand crack and harden tested alloy x-flow head and new aussiespeed 2bl inlet with freight to the usa would cost about $950 delivered to your door.. but the older iron 2V heads and inlet will cost about $1500 delivered once one can be found as they only made about 450 of them in australia.. cheers

hi, my email address is mhbs@people.net.au or landline is 08 9583 3864 i dont know what the international code is from your end.. cheers

hi, i dont have any turbo manifolds but i can get exhaust header flange plates to suit the x-flow alloy head for $85 aus each.. you can then make your own manifold or a set of custom extractors for N/A motors.. cheers

The Cost to ship would be $1500 by Boat. BUT, when on a Boat, no guarantees that all items are left alone unless you pony up for a container. $4000 for a Container from AU to US, $750 Port fees and customs. Could be sitting on a dock waiting clearance for as many as 60 Days.

These rates are for Baltimore, MD terminals. Norfolk, VA a bit higher, Miami, a bit lower, California You save approx $500!

Cheers

i have just found a freight company who will air freight 1 cubic meter boxes to the USA for a flat rate of about $550us and there is no weight limit. Mark from aussiespeed has told me that the 1 cubic meter containers will fit 2 complete x-flow motors and many extra spare parts.. i will find out more soon and see if i can get some complete motors over to you guys at a great price.. cheers

Good luck with that, mate. There were never any 'factory' turbo Xflows. Occasionally an exhaust manifold will show up on evilbay but they cost a bomb. You're more likely to get a BA-BF turbo motor.

So this is my first time coming tot his board because I've always just read info on the log head mods. This topic caught my attention and yes, I understand it's a month old now but is this cross-flow thing another head option from Australia? Would it be possible to put it on a US 200 or will the entire engine need to be bought?

If it can be put on the US blocks, what kind of mods are needed for it and what kind of gains can we expect from it?

im waiting to hear back from the freight company about the conditions of freight but it shouldnt take long.. cheers

Man oh man do I want a crossflow head. I'd prefer this over CI's alloy head because it splits the exhaust and intake ports to opposite sides. Anyone have any word on how to get ahold of or how much it costs to get your hands on one over here in the US?

It may be worthwhile for you to PM stateside FSP member, "Bayrunner". He had one for sale on ebay a while back and I'm not sure if it sold. "Xflow_fairlane", also stateside, had one in the for sale section a while back; probably check with him as well. If you can't get one from them, PM me, I might sell all my stuff off and do the unforgivable.

Along with the head, you will also need an intake manifold, exhaust manifold or header, valve cover, and cam specifically for a crossflow. Take this into consideration when purchasing a crossflow head. Any of these pieces could cost you more in shipping from Australia than the price of the part. I once purchased an OEM alloy valve cover from Australia on eBay for $25, cost me $70 to have it shipped to the US. OUCH!

There is a company called Aussiespeed that has an office in the US and may be able to get you crossflow parts cheaper. Here is their website:
http://aussiespeedusa.com/
They sell awesome 2Bbl and 4Bbl manifolds that have equal flow (about 3% variance) between cylinders.

Good Luck.
