Autolite Carb from a '72 Maverick

Does anyone know if i can use an autolite carb form a '72 maverick on a '78 200ci?

IIRC the 72 carb has a 1.75 bore, and so does the 78... they switched the bore from 1.5 to 1.75 in 69... I THINK your safe, but i would ask/measure the diameter to be safe

Autolites were never used as original equipment on a '72 with a 200. From 1970 on, until the Holley #1946, the only carb used on 170s and 200s was the Carter YF. So it is likely that the Autolite on the '72 Maverick is not the original carb. And, your '78 distributor will be a DuraSpark II that requires a ported vacuum signal from a carb designed with a Ported vacuum port, like an OEM '72 Carter YF. What carb is on the '78 200? Most likely a Holley #1946???

Why did you want to use the Autolite on the later engine?

Right now I do not have a carb. for that engine. on my other 200 i have a 1bbl(not sure of the model) its on a 69 head.
The head i am looking at putting it on is a 66 if i remember correctly. The Carb i am looking at getting is a Autolite 2100d 2bbl.

Howdy Back:

A 2100 Autolite from a Maverick with a 302 V8 should have a venturi casting of 1.08. It is designed to flow 287 CFM and is a good choice for modified 200. It will have a ported vacuum source, which would be compatible with a '78 distributor.
