I bought a 76 Comet with a rebuilt 200-I6. The PO could not get the car started. Nor can I.
Here is what I have done:
1. Reset the distributor, is was off the mark.
2. Reset the plug wires.
3. There is power to the coil. With a test blub it light up on both the pos and neg of the coil.
4. Verified wiring connections.
5. Tried a module from a DSII.

I get no spark from the coil, distributor or plugs.

What do I need to do next?

is the dist spinning , when in the engine , is the DSII module used or new , AND , get a test light and verify you have 12volts at the + side of the coil WHEN CRANKING !!

I leave you in FSD hands

But....

It shoudn't have a Duraspark II, it was designed for a red grommet Duraspark I module.

If its a non orginal DII module, does it have a green, yellow blue or brown grommet?

If its brown, there's your problem, a Duraspark III won't drive a DI or DII.

Any non standard Duraspark II replacement module will be unlikely to be reliable as a good FoMoCo item.
