Posted this on the 'trans' forum, w/no responce.Have a '65 223 w/ a borg-Warner T-98 transmission. It has no sending unit for a back-up lite. Does have several plugs in the side, where maybe one could go. Does anyone know what year back-up lites became standard on Ford trucks?Thx. Jim

Thanks for the reply. If thats accurate, I'll probably have to jury-rig something. My shift pattern for reverse is over (pass. side) and forward, as opposed to the later T-18, ('67 and newer) over and back.Maybe I can make somehing with a simple pushbutton switch mounted externally on the top, activated by the shift lever.Jim

If you are into light fabrication projects you can probably add a switch to the existing top. The shift rails have to slide into the top from one end or the other. I expect the shift rail hole will be closed by a plug. You could probably remove the plug and tap the hole to fit a reverse switch. Maybe you would need to add a spacer into the system. If you do this, please take pictures and post them.
