on the way to work this am i was driving fast on the freeway, noticed that my oil pressure was dropping, when i got off the freeway i noticed a ticking sound, i usually hear that sound when the car starts for a sec, then goes away, now i am hearing it all the time. last time i checked the oil level was ok a few days ago. im going to receck it now. if the oil level is ok, should i suspect that there is a prob with the oil pump?

jest went out and checked my oil, there is none in the car, i jsut checked a few days ago and it was fine. there are no noticeable leaks. any ideas out there? when i start the car i get a puff of white smoke from the exhasut.

i feel like an idiot kinda :) i put 3 qts into the engine and now my pressure is back, and tick gone, i swear that i just checked it last week though. maybe i am burning copius amounts of oil.

well, at least you know the pump is good. :D

You may be burning the oil. Take a good look at the PCV system to make sure it's not being sucked out of the engine and burned that way.

ok so here is the deal, my fuel pump has been leaking. it was leaking right at the block, so i think fuel was going into the engine, when i removed the pump there was a oil/ gas mix that came out. i replaced the pump and no more fuel leak. so i guess that oil was leaking out of the pump etc. so far so good, and no more fuel smell in my car:)
