Balancer repair

I have my engine out doing some repairs, and trying to stop the "droolies", my harmonic balancer has a pretty bad groove where the seal seats and I was wondering if anyone has used the repair sleeves I have seen. Autozone has one by Pioneer which says "an installation tool " is used and Felpro has one but doesn't mention an "installation tool". I would assume that they are a "press" fit with the supplied sealer, anyone had any experience with these? Oh yeah, naturally this is a 200 six! Thanks in advance! :hmmm:

Here's one, $6:

Yeah, but how well do they work, I'm very tempted to try one since I can't really afford $120 for a rebuild at the moment.
Thanks!

I've used these sleeves many times and they work perfectly. They come with a small bit of sealer and they just tap on with a block of wood and some light tapping.

I'll second Mustang6, I recently used on of these on my Falcon (winter 07/08) and it is still dry. I used the Felpro brand sleeve, cost was about $9. The sleeve is about 3/4 inch wide and I remeber wishing that it was a bit wider (at the time I can not remember why).

Thanx guys! Thats what I was hoping to hear, sounds like a bargain for 9 bucks, don't find many of those these days.
