Big or small?

I just picked up a very greasy DS II from the junk yard today and the tag says it's a '76, with a small cap, but, the guy swore up and down it was a '78, anyway, is there a big difference other than the size of the cap? and is there any way to adapt a large cap to it?

A difference? Yup, if you have a small cap distributor with female terminals then you got a Duraspark I. It used a different control module, but with a 4 pin GM module or MSD, it will probably run just as well for you as a DII would. Or, you might get in touch with MustangSix when he's back online. I know he needs a Duraspark I for his 200/x-flow motor.
