can any of you guys tell me what the last year ford used big block sixes in their fullsize cars was? i know it was sometime in the 70s.
by the last in 74 im assuming you mean either the 223 or 240 right? i know the 300 ran into the 90s. mainly what i wanted to do was put a big six in a crown victoria (ltd) or some thing similar.Luckyman":1biqetq6 said:1974 last year in the F series truck and E series van.

The 223-262 is the older, prior design up til 64. It will not interchange easily ( not a bolt in) with the successor 240-300.
I have often thought a 65,66, or 68 (67 ugly, the 69-72 too big & heavy) custom 500 car with a built 300 would be a fun toy. But I have never done anything about it.
youre right, i wasnt considering the general public that may be reading---my bad. i was mainly just havin a little fun with the blowtorch/maniacal laughter thing. i tend to get a bit gung ho and maybe a bit over the top at times.Luckyman said:You can put any engine in any car you want to with the right tools and fabrication skills. My comments regarding the correct mounts were intended for those that want to bolt in and go.
