Block plate question

Greetings, I have a 200 engine from a 1977 Fairmont and plan to install it and a three speed transmission in my 1965 Mustang. I have a 1967 bellhousing and intend to use the heavier three speed transmission. Will a block or separator plate from a 1965 Mustang work with this combination or do I need to keep looking for a 1967 or new plate? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
