Hey guys,

The machine shop is building me a new engine. It seems they didn't properly install the #3 rod and it came apart causing my problem. I'm going to provide them with my original 68 block and they will build it back for free.

There was no damage to the head, valve train.

I will put the MSD rev limiter in this time.

They told me they would have it ready to reinstall by next weekend. So in a couple of weeks I'll be blown again. Hopefully not in a bad way though.

Thanks for the support from you all.

Addo thanks for the info on the 250 swap. I picked up the motor, I have a 78 head that I'm reworking for twin Weber two barrels. I'm thinking of building up the motor with Turbo and blow thru both the Webers. I also know where I can get a pretty clean 67 that has been sitting for awhile without a drive train. It does have an 8" rear. I'm thinking of picking it up and building a quarter mile car with the 250. Not completely rust free but the frame rails and torque boxes are in good shape. I'm planning on building a strickly race car so I'm not so worried about body rust, quarters, doors, and under the rockers. I'll use speed tape and tape-em up and use a little bondo to smooth it out and put on a coat of paint. I plan on stripping everything not necessary out, headliner, sound deadners kicks, quarters, rear seat, if it's not necessary it's gone.

I have spotted a 78 Monarch with a 302 auto at the junk yard. It has the intregal rear so that's out, but it has a 302 auto. Would the auto bolt up to the 250? The front spindles/disks have already been canned. How about the radiator will it fit in a 67.

I'm going to have fun building this one.

Thanks again for all the support from everybody on the forum. You guys are great and I'm learning from you all.

For a drag only car, you can't beat a Fox body, JFWIW
