Brass fittings into carburetor

Can anyone tell me if it is okay, or absolutly not okay, to use teflon tape on the brass fittings attaching the fuel line into the carburetor?
Thank you!

Yes, it's okay to use.

Just don't let the teflon tape overlap the end that goes into the carb.

Keep it back a thread or two from the end of the threads that attach into the carb.

In the picture below...I would back the thread off the ends of this fittings a bit more...otherwise you risk the tape tearing/ breaking off and clogging things up in side your carb.

I never use teflon tape - - - I use Permatex brand teflon thread sealant liquid from Napa.

It works so much better than tape, and you don't have to worry about "threads"

That could work, too. Just don't lay it on thick.

I just put on one drop/blob and smear it around the threads with my fingertip.

Just a reminder, it is not the same thing as teflon paste from the home plumbing dept.
