i read that using a bolt on adaptor to install a 2bbl reduces the carbs flow. i figured if i increse the air flow through the engine(bigger valves ect...) that i would be able be more effective. what do you guys think?

I do agree that using an adaper to put a 2bbl on the log head is not the most effective method of getting air into the engine, but I will vouch from personal experience, installing a 2bbl makes a huge difference in drivability and performance. I am currently running the H/W 5200 on an otherwise stock engine, using the adapter from Stovebolt engine co.

Simply adding this carb and adapter, I gained bottom end torque and the ability to rev past 4500 rpm if i want to.

I will be modifying a spare head so I can build a custom 2bbl intake (just have to get my other vehicles running before I can afford to do this).
