quick question, my bronco has a 170 i am going to build a 200 shortly for it but i was wondering, can i take the camshaft out of the 200 and put in the 170 with the hyd lifter instead of the solid lifters? im only askin because i have a stock 200 cam and i have the timing cover off of my 170 right now thanks dustin

if its a solid lifter 170 you can't use a hydraulic lifter. the solid lifter blocks don't have the oil galley that supplies the lifters with pressurized oil. 1961 thru 1964- 170s were all solid lifter engines. 65 and up were hydraulic.

You have to pull the head also to change the cam.
