cr_bobcat is working on the possibility of fitting the Morel 300 six roller lifters into the 250 six and possibly the 200 six.Thinking about getting one for down the road- if they become hard to get. Then again there might be a roller for the small six too!!![]()
CROW.I would think ( and hope ) SOMEONE would still manufacture hyd cams in the future![]()
Yup. Just waiting on them to arrive. There was a snafu in shipping. They just went out today. Should have them in a couple days.cr_bobcat is working on the possibility of fitting the Morel 300 six roller lifters into the 250 six and possibly the 200 six.
If so, then roller cams will be possible
IMO unless you really improve the breathing a LOT on the USA sixes, a roller is a waste of effort, given the head wont allow NA power above about 6000rpm, why would you need rollers?cr_bobcat is working on the possibility of fitting the Morel 300 six roller lifters into the 250 six and possibly the 200 six.

Because the USA flat tappet cams have a high rate of lobe failures and since there are no longer any new flat tappet cam cores available, once the present shelf supply is gone then there will be NO USA flat tappet cams. This includes small six cams.IMO unless you really improve the breathing a LOT on the USA sixes, a roller is a waste of effort, given the head wont allow NA power above about 6000rpm, why would you need rollers?
I thought we are talking about small six cams? Crow in Australia still has them listed for precrossflow engines. The whole lobe fialures is something Ive never had a problem with, but I do use lots of Molysulphide grease on cams and lifters, I never do the high idle when first starting, IMO this might be why the lobes get damaged.Because the USA flat tappet cams have a high rate of lobe failures and since there are no longer any new flat tappet cam cores available, once the present shelf supply is gone then there will be NO USA flat tappet cams. The 300 six is at that crossroads and is why we made an effort to make 240/300 roller cams available.
We are talking about small six cams along with all other flat tappet cams for any engine.I thought we are talking about small six cams? Or you can have a company like Delta Cams weld up your existing cam and grind whatever profile you need.I guess worse case scenario, one could have one shipped from Australia. I had a roller rocker shipped and wasn’t a real big deal. Figuring out how to send Australian dollars with PayPal was the hardest part![]()
When I spoke to them back in 2024, they do repairs on pretty much any camshaft made for automotive and industrial applications. Even small engines.Or you can have a company like Delta Cams weld up your existing cam and grind whatever profile you need.
Here is their website. They answer calls. Seems like a good company to work with.Do you have any ballpark of what they charge?

Mostly to see if I can. That said, I do have a fairly heavily modified large log with direct mount, oversized valves, and am going to throw some boost at it. Not a lot, but some.IMO unless you really improve the breathing a LOT on the USA sixes, a roller is a waste of effort, given the head wont allow NA power above about 6000rpm, why would you need rollers?
