Carb adapters... alternatives to stovebolt and clifford?

What is everyone using? I'm debating doing a progressive Weber on an adapter but I am worred about the placement of the fuel bowl, and hood clearance.

Do those of you with angled carbs and sideways mounted carbs have problems with fuel starvation on hard launches?

I have the Redline unit, which I bought from another member, but I think is the one Stovebolt sells. My 5200 sits @ a 45*, but I haven't done any "hard launches," since I don't want to "lunch" my rear axle.

If I were doing over, I'd be sorely tmepted to get the Carter Weber, because of throttle shaft rotation. It's $85 new, with electric choke.

Anybody have more pics of the Carter Weber? How is your hood clearance with the Redline/Stovebolt adapter?

Eric see the thread "Holley 5200" you'll find some answers there. I bumped to the top for your convenience.

Yeah, that post pretty much answered my questions lol. Going to stop by Summit this weekend, get the TD adapter (which I think is the same as the Stovebolt adapter) and drill it to mount the carb straight.

For less than $20 so its worth a shot.

I think a friend of mine has a Weber carb he can donate too. The downside is I don't know what it is though, might be a 32/32, a 32/34, or a 32/36, I will just have to wait and see..
