Carb question? Flat spot

Quick question, I have the Carter YF on my 69 200 with the Petronix. It runs great! But if I punch it off the line, I got a flat spot then acceleration. Any suggestions? If I punch it while moving, its fine. I would like to improve the off the line takeoff.

Maybe rehook your vacuum adavance to manifold vacuum. Give it a try (cheap to play with).

I'd try retarding the static timing about 2 degrees.

If it helps, try to get lighter springs in the distributor, at least the primary spring.

Retarding timing will usually only make a flat spot worse.

It sounds more like an accelerator pump deficiency.
