Carb Question for a 2 barrel on a 200

I got an 81 200 with c4. I did the 2 bbl swap onto it and had the problem of it running away on me when i fired it up. I didnt have any vacuum leaks or anything along those lines. So I got curious last night while working on it and decided to pull the jets off and take a look at them. I noticed it had 31 stamped on the side of them. I have been reading through the posts and noticed that most people run 60 or 61 jets, somewhere around there. My question is, Is the 31 jet too big for the motor causing it to run away on me? If so can I just buy a smaller jet and swap it in and go from there?

Main jets shouldn't have any impact on the idle. Something else is wrong with your idle circuit. Are you connected to manifold vacuum? If so, try the ported vacuum.

disconnect the throttle linkage, may be in a bind. I installed the 5200 h/w and didn't have to touch a thing.

well the carb isnt new. its used but in like new condition so the settings arent factory on it. I did have it running off manifold and ported vacuum.

In addition to the throttle linkage make sure that the choke linkage is free so that the throttle will come down off of the high idle cam.

# 31 jets are very small, I wonder if they are not #81's with the 8's not fully stamped. But as BIGREDRASA said it shouldn't hurt your idle. How much of your fuel transfer slot is showing?

Well I checked the carb out today, and on the airhorn it has 64-5388 stamped on it. So its not a 2300 series like I thought. Can anyone tell me anything about the 5300 2bbl series i got?
