carbie off a '70s six?

My engine is a 65 with a non factory carb. I am not sure what it is but I think its a holley. The body of is square-like in contrast to the round autolite. It was on the car when I bought it, but I'm pretty sure its not a 1100. The vacuum advance is connected to a carb port, and there is a unoccupied threaded hole at the base facing the passenger side shock tower.Possibly off a 70's inline or what? There is no spark control valve as I can see it.

Sounds like you are describing a Holley 1940 carburetor.

yep, thats it alright. So is this carb is pretty common when it comes to parts, then? It could use a rebuild and new accl. pump.
