Howdy,
Check the fuel filters!... On the HW the little piece that screws into the carb and has the gas hose attach to it is a filter. Replace it...
If you don't have a clear (you'll be amazed how fast it fills up with crub on ANY old car) plastic filter in the rubber hose between the the fuel pump and the frame put one in IMMEDIATELY! Crud coming from the gas tank will kill your fuel pump in short order.
If your rubber hose was cracked and leaking CHANGE IT. Rubbers with holes in them don't work.. When you take that hose off, gas should RUN out of it if you have 1/2 tank of gas -- the most common reason for gas not getting to the carb is cause there isn't in the gas tank - BigGrin...
If gas doesn't RUN out, then use an air hose and blow the line clear. Take the gas cap off before using high pressuse air into the hose or you'll "inflate" the gas tank. How do I know the tank will inflate? Been there.
Starting checking for the blockage. take the hose off the carb and stick it in some kind of container. Crank the engine over. No Gas? OK hook up the carb line again and move further back. Disconnect the gas line at the fuel punp that goes to the carb. Crank it over. No gas? OK hook it up again... Does your fuel pump have a built in filter? Looks like a small oil filter screwed on the fuel pump. CHANGE IT. And test to see if there is gas at the carb.
One more thought. Does it stop getting gas after running a while? Try driving with the gas cap off. If that solves the gas to the carb problem, then your gas tank vent is plugged.
Finally if there's gas at the rubble hose to the pump, but not at the carb and nothing iis blocked - then it is the pump.
Good Luck
Tell us what it turns out to be.
