Carter 1 BBL

I have a Carter 1 BBL carb, but I'm not using it at the moment. In case I should need it... what mods would I have to make for it to run good with it? It doesn't have an SCV I don't think, so would I need to swap out my distributor? Thanks guys.

swap to a '68 up distributor and rebuild it if it is used, put it on and see how it runs.

The carburetor is a new out of the box Ford.
