Carter YF on a 250 question

I'm reviving my old 70 Maverick that has been sitting almost 15 years. I bought a good 77 model 250 and C4 (and Duraspark ign) and dropped in and got it running but it had carbuteror issues. The old Carter YF had a few stripped screws so I bought a reman. Then I removed the EGR valve and all un-needed emissions items and installed the reman. carburetor. Started on the first crank after I primed it and runs like a champ.

So all is good.....but I noticed the carb looked a little different than my old one and did a little research and it looks like this carb is for a 75 Maverick 250 with California emissions. I've read here that it should run leaner than a standard emissions carb. Do you think I should be concerned? I read here also that it might need to be re-jetted. Is that very difficult? I still have my original carb.

I guess that I should add that my fear (as a self proclaimed carb guru told me) is that running this carb would cause burnt valves.

I know nothing about Carter carbs but if I have to modify this one, I need to swap out the lean metering rod for standard?

This carb seems to perform flawlessly....should I stick with it or is there a chance of causing a problem?

Do you have access or can you can get someone to check the Air / Fuel ratio only way to know for sure look for Dyno or better Tuneup shop’s. Cheap o way would be to check the plug color light brown should be close enough.
