What about the hesitation and stumbling you mentioned after rebuild? We're you able to tune them out?

Its a nice 70 down here I'll be working on body work so I will definitely post some pictures of the bad ass little autolite

Looking good, but I have to ask.. what's up with the soldering iron?

I see you also got some paint on the car, once it gets back to a single color (or color scheme) you will be much happier.

Check the final assembly. He is relieving a spot where it drags in the fitting - I think.

The Piece actually snapped during disassembly so just plastic welded it back together

I am going to try to 3d print that piece and go from there...

Any suggestions??

that picture is now on the photostream

shut the front door! You have access to a 3d printer? Do you need things to print? I could send you a list!

You know I have more carbs, I could send you another arm.

ahahh yeah its at TXRX its the Houston Hackerspace its awesome they've got some small ones

its works for now thanks though!!

"...3D printer..."
there's some bux (from what I hear)!!!
How the heck could they work....never mind, not enuff space.
Any 1 know where to get an article on how they work (for the simple minded, that is, which reminds me...)

Sorry to jack the thread but I'm lookin 4 a "dummies' guide to automotive theory". How the parts work together, tq verses hp, electric theory in the engine, etc. I know it may sound backward but I need to fill in a few small but oh so important gaps & wasn't sure where to start (but probably all over again from the beginning). Got any suggestions? Even a hi-school auto shop text might be appropriate...

Dont really know of any text books but im sure Barnes and Noble can fill your need

now that all my engine trouble is solved. Let the BODY WORK.. BEGIN

Funny thing about what I said yesterday, the offer for another arm. I have 5 other Autolite 1100's at home and not a single one has the dashpot on the front like the one I sent you. Crazy! So the dashpot on the front (same side as the SCV) is for automatic transmissions and the ones that only have a single dashpot are for manual transmissions.

It's been a couple weeks, how are things working out? I'm still waiting on those sunny pics!

Yesterday started out at -15f and warmed to -6f. Today is starting out at -22f and supposed to get all the way up to 8f. Yay, positive numbers, still 24 degrees below freezing though. The snow yesterday on fresh overnight snow drifts was so solid I could drive on it.

Hey sorry... Im on a FIRST Robtics team and we have been building our frisbee throwing robot!!... I will be getting back to the mustang soon.... It actually been running kind of rough... It runs great when choke but the second that the choke is relaesed it wants to die...
