Hey guys! Does anyone know where the valves for the CI AL head came from?
I need an intake valve, as the one on my #1 cylinder is now bent.
I know they are 1.840 and 5/16 stem. Is there any other info I need to order a valve?
Or does anyone know someone with one?
My machinest said he couldn't get one till the beginning of the year. I can't really wait that long due to a move back to Louisiana the end of the month.

Thanks for the help guys!

Howdy Back:

I think Mike [CI] got his valves from SSI [Stainless Steel Industries] inSimi Valley, CA. 805-582 -8285. Tech line 805-582-0085. Order line 1-800-564-8258.

Good Luck and Merry Christmas.

Matt, you could do a lot of re-engineering upgrades on valve length. Right now the maximum lift is .525.
Longer valves would allow more lift & also allow a higher seat height on valve springs. That would allow a much wider selection of valve springs.
At the same time the rocker arm stands would have to be spaced the same length as say a .090" longer valve. It would also require longer puchrods.
The C.I. head will flow to .600"
At the same time the valve cover will have to be raised to accommodate necessary clearance for the valve train.
I already have a set of longer valves for my iron head, including shims, springs & retainers. The solid lifter camshaft is already in my spare engine which has .570" lift using 1.65 rocker arms.
Just need for the winter to be gone to give this combo a try.
I would guess a 20-25 HP increase even on the iron heat. On the CI head it could be 30-40 HP increase.
