Think about it this way, you're advancing the timing of the valves, so you rotate the camshaft clockwise or "ahead" of the crank. Or, you're rotating the crank backwards, same effect.
 
Yeah, that's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure. My mind always works backwards on stuff like this. Geometry and spatial awareness were never my strong suits. Thanks!
